Capital Bible College - Degree Completion

Degree Completion

CERTIFICATE
On the evening schedule, a minimum of 6 units in the Christian Counseling and Spiritual Formation are offered each quarter. After 1 1/2 school years (6 quarters), the Certificate in Christian Counseling may be completed.

DIPLOMAS
On the evening full-time schedule, the student will complete the Diploma in Bible in 2 school years (6 quarters) or 1 1/2 years if at least one Summer quarter of 8 units is taken. The Diploma in Bible and Ministry may be completed in 3 school years plus 2 Summer quarters. (without the Summer quarters, this diploma requires 4 years).

DEGREES
On the evening full-time schedule, if a student already possesses a valid A.A. degree or its equivalent, the Associate of Arts Degree in Bible may be completed in 1 and 1/2 years ( 6 quarters) including at least one Summer quarter. On the evening full-time schedule, if a student already possesses a valid A.A. degree or its equivalent, the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible and Ministry may be completed in 3 school years plus 2 Summer quarters. (without the Summer quarters, this degree requires 4 years).

PART-TIME STUDENTS A student may attend as many morning and/or evening classes as their interest and schedule may permit while anticipating completion of either of the diploma or degree programs. The length of time to complete a degree or diploma depends upon the student's completion of the required amount of units in the necessary subject areas. (See "Programs of Study" for details) Depending on the student's schedule, the Diploma in Bible is awarded upon completion of 48 quarter units, the Associate of Arts Degree in Bible upon completion of 48 quarter units plus an A.A. degree or its equivalent. The Diploma in Bible and Ministry requires 96 quarter units, and the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible and Ministry may be completed with 96 quarter units plus an A.A. degree or its equivalent.

CLASS HOURS AND UNITS
A class hour is defined as 50 minutes. A course meeting one class hour per week for 12 weeks is defined as a 1 unit class. A course meeting 2 class hours per week for 12 weeks is defined as a 2 unit class, and so on. This unit is commonly known as a "quarter" unit of credit.

QUARTERS AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR
Fall Quarter: 12 weeks from late August or early September approximately to the end of November. Winter Quarter: 12 weeks from late November or early December approximately to the end of February. Spring Quarter: 12 weeks from early March to the end of May or early June.

Summer Quarter: 8 weeks from mid-June to early August.
